I was born and raised in Burnet County, where hard work, integrity, and community values shaped who I am today. Growing up here, I learned the importance of perseverance and taking pride in a job well done - values that have guided me throughout my life and career.
From my early days working in construction to building a successful business and investing in our local economy, Burnet County has always been home. This is where I built my career, raised my family, and where I continue to work toward a stronger future for our community.
I understand the challenges and opportunities facing our county because I've lived them. As county commissioner, I will work to preserve what makes our community special while ensuring smart growth and responsible leadership for the future.
A THRIVING CAREER
From hands-on experience in construction to running a successful business and investing in the local economy, my career has been built on hard work, strategic decision-making, and a commitment to responsible development.
After high school, I began my career working for major road and utility contractors, including Austin Engineering and Haegelin Construction. Through dedication and perseverance, I worked my way up to superintendent, gaining valuable firsthand experience in large-scale infrastructure projects.
In 1998, I found Guenter Construction LLC, growing it into a respected name in the construction industry. Over the years, I expanded our services to include water and sewer plant projects ranging from $30 million to $50 million, ensuring critical infrastructure for communities.
Beyond construction, my wife and I have invested in our local economy by purchasing and managing rental properties, providing quality housing for residents. I have also collaborated with land developers on road construction and homebuilding projects, contributing to responsible community growth.
I have been married to my wife, Robin, for 36 years, and we have built a life rooted in hard work, faith, and family. We are proud parents of two sons, Brent (wife Caitlyn) and Josh (wife Gina), and loving grandparents to our three wonderful grandchildren, Aubree, Lainee, Brinlee.
With decades of experience managing large projects, working with developers, and understanding the challenges of infrastructure and housing, I am prepared to bring practical solutions to our county. As county commissioner, I will apply my expertise to ensure smart growth, efficient use of resources, and policies that benefit both residents and businesses.
